Free Meal Service for Kyrene Families

Kyrene School District is pleased to share thatfree meal servicefor all children has been extended for the duration of the school year. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has extended a waiver allowing Kyrene to offer breakfast and lunch to all children and teenagers, ages 18 and younger, regardless of income or eligibility. The USDA is covering the cost of the meals, atno expenseto families or to the District.

Meals are servedon all 25 campuses for in-person students and are available for curbside pickup for all other children, including Flex Distance Learning and Kyrene Digital Academy students.

Updates to Curbside Pickup:

Effective immediately, curbside pickup days and times are changing, and additional meals will be provided. Pickup days will be Mondays and Thursdays at the Kyrene District Office, at 8700 S. Kyrene Rd. in Tempe.

  • 早上小hours are9:00–11:00 a.m.
  • Afternoon pickup hours are2:00–4:00 p.m.
  • Monday Meal Pickup:Three breakfasts and three lunches per child will be provided.
  • Thursday Meal Pickup:Four breakfasts and four lunches per child will be provided.

These changes will ensure children have breakfast and lunch every day, including Saturday and Sunday. Families, please note that you must pick up both days to receive the entire week of meals.

Important Information:

  • Meals will be free through June 30, 2021.
  • Regular meal pricing will resume in July, pending any further extension by the USDA.
  • Children do not have to be present. Parents/guardians may pick up your child’s meals.
  • Children do not have to be Kyrene students. (For example, non-school age siblings may also receive free meals.)
  • Adults must still pay for meals.
