Welcome Back!

I'm excited to be back working with our students weather it is online or in person. We know that the current time that we live in has added extra stressors to our families and students. As a school counselor, I am here to help support our students and families even more so through these challenging times.

I hope that we can work together to lessen any stressors our students may be experiencing. We want to provide a structured curriculm full of support, yet we understand that we also need to be flexible. I am here as the school counselor to help students who may be struggling with online learning or in person learning. I'm also here to help strengthen students self-awareneness,self-management, social awareness, relationship skills or making responsible decisions.

A little about my background... I've worked in the field of mental health for 15+ years. I've worked in group homes, psychiatric hospitals and now of course in our school system. I have been with Kyrene for about 1 year, but I've been apart of the Kyrene family for many more with my kids attending Kyrene schools. I attended San Diego State University where I recieved my bachelors in Psychology. I then continued onto National University in San Diego where I recieved my M.A. in Human Behavior. I'm also a current certified school counselor through the state of Arizona. I enjoy being outdoors and doing anything active with my family. We love to travel as often as possible and can't wait to get back to traveling internationally.

My goal is to help give our students the tools they need to be happy, healthy students today, but also to get the foundation to be happy, healthy adults. Studies show that learning how to manage your social and emotional well being at a young age is very helpful as you grow into an adult. I want every student to feel happy, comfortable, confident and supported as much as possible.

Be Safe. Be Kind. Be Respectful. Be Responsible
